Restart Features at UK Conference

June 2011, West Bromwich, England--Restart Project managing partner Possibilities NI was recently invited to participate in a conference about Lifelong Learning Programme projects, which was jointly organised by the UK National Agency, ECORYS, and the British Council. Anne Sweeney and Karen McCann, from Possibilities NI, presented an exhibit that featured the Restart Transfer of Innovation Project, making the Your Story Conference a great dissemination opportunity for Restart.

In addition to delegates from many other UK organizations involved in LLP projects, representatives from the European Commission and UNESCO were also in attendance at the event in West Bromwich, England. As Ecorys stated, the Your Story Conference highlighted projects that are working toward social inclusion for marginalized groups because ‘the Lifelong Learning Programme… [supports] projects that involve people in learning, increase their confidence and empower them to be active citizens. We want to share successes from across the programmes and look at how we can overcome barriers to inclusion’.

Possibilties NI appreciated the opportunity to present the Restart project while it is still ongoing, and to network with other organizations engaged in LLP projects.
