Empower aims to create equality of opportunity for disadvantaged groups in European society. We do this by developing partnerships, projects and networks and supporting other organisations to do the same.
This project aims to develop the quality and attractiveness of VET systems and practices throughout Europe by ensuring that they are responsive to the very specific needs of a group known to be at high risk of social exclusion: lone parents. It will target support at lone parents that face particular difficulties in the labour market by actively involving them in the project to transfer qualifications across Europe.
The Supermom project offers vocational orientation and training in media for unemployed single mothers. The training combines vocational training courses and practical work with informal learning. This combination empowers the women, raises their professional as well as personal competencies, and thus increases their opportunities in the labour market.
